FUNDRAISING
PROJECT
During
2002 Randhart Primary School undertook a major fundraising
project. The highlight and culmination of the project
was when Aerial FX’s Skydiving Team landed
on our sports field to determine the winners of
the main fundraising competition.
It
was an absolute pleasure to work with such a professional
team of people. Early planning and site visits were
done as well as follow up visits to ensure the success
of the jump. The correct and comprehensive documentation
was delivered and processed promptly, all which
led to the successful carrying out of the event
on the big day. As part of the incentive to raise
the most funds for the school, those 4 students
qualifying were treated to a free flight over the
Alberton area in Aerial FX’s chartered helicopter.
Our
fundraising project basically consisted of having
the entire sports field divided up in virtual ‘blocks’,
the total of which were determined by the prior
sales of tickets by the pupils. It was then easy
to establish the random 4 winners by means of a
computer program which was linked to the exact position
where each of the skydivers landed on the field.
I
highly recommend this project or a variation thereof
to any school as an excellent and spectacular fundraiser.
In our case at Randhart our profit from the skydiving
display was approximately R86 000.00. Further information
