A
scenic 35 second once in a life time action packed flight
you will never regret in your life
The
briefing for the dive is 15 mins and does not require
a whole day. The reason being is you are going to be harnessed
on to the front of your instructor. The instructor will
deploy the main parachute. You can help with the steering
and landing of the parachute. I recommend that you have
a cameraman so that you can take a video home to show
your friends and family.

STATIC
LINE PROGRESSION
- Instructors
do all your briefings on the ground
- You
would then jump by your self with an instructor evaluating
your performance by watching you from the plane
- The
progression course consists of 25 jumps
- You
would then have to learn more flying skills by jumping
with other experienced skydivers
You
would do your first static line jump after the 7 lectures
from 3500 feet. The ground school takes a full day so
if it is a big class, you may only get to jump the next
day.

Ground
school is a night class during the week at Icarus Air
Wear in Edenvale. The reason is that you want to do your
training before going to the drop zone so when when you
get there you are ready to jump.
THE
COURSE IS SEVEN LEVELS WITH INSTRCTORS
THE LEVEL EIGHT IS THREE JUMPS ON YOUR OWN
- Instructors
actually jump with you and do your evaluation in the
air
- The
advantage is that you learn flying skills from the very
first jump
All
drills are simulated lying down in the free fall position
on trolleys with wheels
Level
1. (Two instructors)
Altitude:
11 000 feet for every level
Exit procedures = Linked exit (instructors are holding
on to your harness)
Body position = how to fall stable through the air in
the box position
Practice touches = knowing where your deployment handle
is as well as your emergency
Altitude awareness = reading your altimeter so you know
what height you are at all the way through the dive.

Debrief
level 1 = discus experience and correct any problems
that may have arisen.eg.legs not 90 degrees, but to
straight.
Exit = Linked
New skill = forward movement. How to propel your body
forward using your legs

3. (Two instructors)
Debrief
level 2
Exit = Linked
New skill = one instructor releases and the student
turns 90 degrees on to him

4. (One instructor)

Full release dive = you are now freefalling by yourself
New skill = hover control.follow the movement of the
instructor eg.90 degree turn

Exit = unlinked
New skill = 360 degree turns stopping on heading

Exit = Dive unlinked and regaining stability(fun dive)
New skill = back loops going unstable and regaining

Delta = Learning to fly away from an individual so as
to get clean air for the opening of your parachute

You
can complete your AFF in one-week and or spread your levels
over a couple of months. All the equipment you need is
provided.
GENERAL
- Clubhouse
has a canteen where you can get toasted samies etc.
They also do breakfasts and a main meal on a Saturday
night if you stay over. You can also bring your own
food.
- There
is a bar, which sells every thing at good prices, or
you can bring your own stock.
- You
can bring a tent and camp over
- The
ablution facilities are excellent
We
shall jump at a dropzone, which is about 1hr from JHB
depending where you stay. Please contact
